Welcome to an exciting kitchen design tour of a luxurious kitchen in Lumania! This is a space where every detail has been carefully considered to provide the perfect blend of functionality and elegance. As a designer, I was thrilled to be a part of this project and specifically excited about designing this kitchen. I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I do!
The Kitchen Layout: Smart & Spacious
This kitchen isn’t just one space—it’s a multi-functional zone. It includes a main cooking area, a breakfast counter, and a serving area, all harmoniously integrated. We made several permutations and combinations to ensure that each section of the kitchen serves its purpose efficiently.
To make the space more seamless, we placed the pantry and snack storage area close to the breakfast counter, so it’s easy for anyone sitting there to grab something quickly. There’s also a water dispenser area that we’ve strategically designed for utility. We initially planned for additional storage for mops and cleaning materials, but adjusted the height to better suit the overall design and space.
Maximizing Storage: Clever Design Choices
One of the key highlights of this kitchen is its storage. We have used tall cabinets and drawers that maximize every inch of available space. For example, the corner shelves are specifically designed to allow easy access to heavy kitchenware. The drawers, which are tandem soft-close units, ensure smooth use while adding a modern touch to the space. You can opt for either a two-tier or three-tier system for your own kitchen based on your preference.
For the upper cabinets, we opted for solid, handleless shutters, which not only look sleek but also increase accessibility. We increased the height of these cabinets to add an additional storage level, allowing for better organization.
Functional Cooking Area
The cooking area itself is a dream for any chef. We’ve integrated six drawers for easy access to utensils, with each drawer neatly organized for specific cooking needs, like cutlery, pans, measuring cups, and spices. This means that everything is within reach when you’re cooking, reducing time and making the cooking process efficient.
For the sink area, we kept the existing layout since the space was limited. This area is designed for quick cleaning tasks, keeping everything streamlined and convenient.
Innovative Kitchen Features
One of the standout features of this kitchen is the rolling shutter system in the prep area. It’s an excellent way to save counter space while keeping appliances like a mixer grinder tucked away when not in use. The shutter opens effortlessly, allowing you to access items quickly. Additionally, we added a wicker basket for garlic, onions, and potatoes, providing both aesthetic value and practicality.
We also designed a bottle pull-out system with a divider to prevent bottles from slipping—an excellent addition for anyone who loves to keep their kitchen organized.
Material Choices: High-End and Durable
For the kitchen cabinetry, we used high-quality 1.5 mm gray acrylic with seamless edges to give it a polished, modern look. The countertops and islands feature stunning black Galaxy granite, which has hints of blue that change depending on the light. For the backsplash, we used the same full-body tiles to create a uniform and elegant look throughout the kitchen.
In the wet kitchen, we used white acrylic to brighten up the space. The cabinetry here follows a similar design language, with G-profile handles and exposed handles for a modern touch.
The Finishing Touches
Details like the exposed handles on the kitchen island and the G-profile handles on the main cabinets add a touch of sophistication. For the cabinetry carcass, we’ve used BWP-grade marine plywood, which is durable and resistant to moisture—perfect for a kitchen environment. The overall design is made even better with PVC legs under the cabinets, ensuring stability and durability.
In the prep area, the rolling shutter is made from PVC and is in a sleek black color, complementing the white shutters and handles perfectly.
Conclusion
This luxurious kitchen in Lumania is a perfect example of how careful planning and thoughtful design can create a functional yet stylish space. From maximizing storage with clever drawer and cabinet designs to choosing high-end materials that elevate the overall aesthetic, every element of this kitchen has been tailored to make it a dream cooking and living space.
